Revival is not about how many people you can pack into a church building, but how effectively you impact the community around you. So how do we change a city that has been influenced by every form of crime, drugs, violence, poverty and sexual perversion? The answer:
Adopt-A-Block
The Adopt-A-Block program is God's heart expressed through our lives to impact the community God has given us.
The Vision:
To care so deeply about the people that live in our neighborhoods, that we become one of the loudest voices in our community!
There are hundreds, even thousands of poor people surrounding the Sarasota Dream Center that just need someone to believe in them. The church needs to take back it's responsibility to care for neighbors in need. The Government can not do it.
♦ These are people in our community that have needs no one else is consistently trying to meet.
♦ These are also people in our community that have unique gifts and talents to share that no one else is trying to nurture.
You can step in and be the one that shows our neighbors in need that the church is more than a religious organization - it has a face; it has a name; it cares about them.
This stragety to reach people for Christ is very simple and pure. The stragety is about consistently going to where needy people are, earning trust and developing personal relationship eventually giving us the privilege and right to share our faith as trusted friends! Some, if not all team members, must go to your block every week.
Adopt-A-Block teams and "new" individuals looking for a team; gather at the Dream Center EVERY Saturday morning at 9:30.
This is not door to door preaching or handing out tracks. You will be trained and equipped with all of the tools necessary to "break the ice" in our secular world. If you like to help people, are seeking God and are committed to both, the floodgates of blessing will open before your eyes.
